MAK’s
commitment to quality is an important part of its business. Quality is built
into all areas of the process, from the selection of raw materials and
manufacturing, to shipping.
MAK’s
Quality Management System (QMS) has been certified and registered ISO 9002 by
the British Standards Institute (BSI).
Additional
requirements as specified by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) in QS 9000,
are incorporated in MAK’s quality system. MAK also believes that companies are
accountable to the community, and to that end, has developed a comprehensive
Environmental Management System that conforms to ISO 14000 standards
High Performance Begins with Raw Materials.
MAK develops
formulations to meet Original Equipment specifications. MAK TRAXX products
incorporate the latest generation of materials from many of the multi-national
leaders in their field. Selected by the MAK development team, raw
materials are tested
at the Company’s in-house laboratories to ensure ongoing product quality and
uniformity
Quality Systems All the Way Down the Line.
To track
and monitor every step in the process, a quality control plan has been
initiated for each operation. Measurement data is entered into a computerised
statistical process control (SPC) system that enables fast and easy
adjustments. The result is less rejects and tighter quality control. MAK passes
these benefits on to its customers with lower costs, decreased returns, and
reliable delivery.
Testing the Brake Limits.
MAK’s rigorous testing ensures that the highest standards are met in raw material
selection, mixing quality, and all other areas of the manufacturing process. Dynamometer
testing of the finished product simulates a variety of braking conditions, proving
prescribed design criteria for fade, recovery, noise, life, mating surface wear and
stopping distance.
All of the MAK TRAXX commercial vehicle and passenger carrying vehicle brake linings meet
today’s stringent European legislative requirements for safety-critical products --
ECE Regulation 13: Uniform Provisions Concerning the Approval of Vehicles of categories M,
N and O with regard to Braking. Brakes used in extreme working conditions, such as trailer
axle drum brake applications, are tested and certified by the appropriate authorities. |
